In 2011, Alex the owner brought to Sydneysiders ‘Home Thai’ in Sussex Street, Sydney. Following its success, BoThai in Crows Nest is created with a different concept, Alex’s passion is to develop a unique Thai restaurant with authentic recipe and well balanced Thai flavours for the residents in the North Shore.

BoThai is a casual and yet relaxed Thai restaurants reflecting a Thai jungle aesthetic. Our philosophy is to provide a clean, comfortable Thai décor environment and to deliver delicious Thai dishes prepared, cooked by Thai chefs and served by enthusiastic Thai at an afforable price.

Behind every thriving venture is a happy team. Alex is The Mind behind our Sydney Thai restaurant. His passion for his country’s cuisine has helped the city’s Thai food scene grow from humble beginnings a decade ago to an entrenched part of the culinary landscape.

Head chef Komkrit Kheawwan (aka ‘Aof’) is The Heart of BoThai. He began cooking at age 12, helping out at his uncle’s hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a bustling food district in Bangkok. This experience, coupled with the skills learned from his Australian master, has given Aof a natural ability to create flavour-full home-style dishes catering to Australian tastes.

Maître d’ Anusara Pengpan (aka ‘Hong’) is The Soul of our Thai eatery. With a delightful personality and a genuine love for her customers, she makes everyone who walks through our doors feel warm and welcome. Thai hospitality at its best.

Love this place. Love their veges with pork belly, all of their curries and their sensational fried rice. Literally everything on the menu is delightful.

Head Chef – Komkrit Kheawwan aka “Aof”

His passion for cooking Thai food began at the age of twelve when he helped out at his uncle’s humble Thai restaurant in Sukhumvit, a busy food district in Bangkok. Coupled with the knowledge from his uncle’s restaurant and the skills learned from his Australian master, he develops his own recipes and dishes with a modern approach.

His recipes cater for the Australian taste bud combining original and authentic Thai recipes, ingredients sourced from all around Australia applying with his home-style cooking techniques.

Maître d – Anusara Pengpan aka “Hong”

She migrated to Australia with her parents when she was a little girl from Udon Thani, Thailand. She has a most delightful personality and is most enthusiastic towards customer service. When dining at BoThai, you will experience true Thai hospitality. She serves with her heart and her genunie love to customers is few and far in between. Hong brings the full blossom into the restaurant everyday.
